The creative process is the foundation of contemporary dance, it starts with the youngest. Advising and guiding a child/adolescent in the shaping of an idea, dance expression, and independent choreographic work is the work of the mentor which leaves a mark and shapes young creators to create and freely carve their professional path.

Improvisational communication (jam session) (Hungary, Slovenia)

Dance communication Lab – DCL is part of the program of Beyond Front@ network, a European network of dance organisations. DCL’s aim is to connect artists from the field of contemporary dance and to test opportunities for cooperation through improvisation, which is the most distinctive process of creation in contemporary dance. Hungarian and Slovenian dancers of contemporary dance meet in Maribor.

Each year, GT22 meets, presents, and connects the regional art scene with Maribor through the Focus platform. After #FocusRijeka, #FocusGraz, and #FocusZagreb, we are connecting with Hungary and Budapest this year. The first part of the program, as usual, took place in cooperation with the Lent Festival. This time, Moment, together with the Platform of Contemporary Dance, has invited the guests Pro Progressione from Budapest.

Zoltán Grecsó holds a BA in dance from the Anton Bruckner University, Linz, and in dance teaching from the Hungarian Dance Academy, where he works today as a teacher. Next to that he is a freelance choreographer and a dancer of the Éva Duda Company in Budapest and the Jonah Bokaer Company in New York. In 2009, he founded an improvisation studio - Willany Leó Improvisation Dance Theatre.

Rebeka Petra Kiss holds a BA in modern dance from the Hungarian Dance Academy. She works as a freelance dancer with Anna Adam and Gray Box Project in Budapest and Paris, and as a yoga teacher. In the last six years she also works with the improvisation studio -Willany Leó Improvisation Dance Theatre.

Maja Lamovšek is an independent producer, dancer, choreographer, and performer. She holds a BA in dance from the University for Music, Drama, and Dance in Linz (Anton Bruckner University). Since 2020, she has been the program and artistic director of the Eventor Agency Institute for Cultural Production, which links event organization, performing arts, music, educational activities, and music booking. In recent years, she is also active as a dance pedagogue.    

Katarina Barbara Kavčič Popič is a dance pedagogue, dancer, choreographer, and member of the commission for awarding national professional qualifications in the field of dance. She graduated from the Dance Academy in Salzburg. She is currently completing the Pedagogy-Andragogy program at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, devoting herself to teaching young people, and intensively researching the field of art education.
