An uneven relationship between the centre and perifery often exposes itself. Regardless of the fact that it is the second largest city in Slovenia, Maribor is in many ways in a more enviable position than the capital. It is worth mentioning the well-developed network of educational institutions which pass on contemporary dance knowledge, as well as the (relatively) large number of educators with academic titles in the field of dance, all of which can form a strong, local contemporary dance
scene. In this discussion we will shed light on the working conditions (financial, spatial, those related to production) facing artists in Maribor and think about the possibilities for their development. Together with the guests, we will discuss the visibility of contemporary dance and the relationship towards its creation. We will consider the possibilities of the transfer of dance knowledge and the nurturing of an audience's curiosity, the gap between a high participation of individuals in
informal types of dance education and a low attendance at contemporary dance performances. We will examine mutual support and outline possible forms of connection and community action.
